CURRENT PROJECT:
Aric Lane
ARCHITECT: 2M Architecture
INTERIOR DESIGN: Viscusi Elson Interior Design
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project that we are currently highlighting is a large scale remodel of an English Tudor Style
home in the Bay Area. The home was approximately forty years old and had most of its original
finishes and systems.
2M Architecture was able to add a large amount of livable space to the original design in an
unfinished second floor and was able to capture portions of the attic space as well. By adding
a new stairway in the main entrance hall, the design tied the two floors together and enhanced the
overall flow of the house. Some of the challenges that we have faced to this point have been in
updating the existing systems of an older home. Due to the condition of the systems, we have
installed all new electrical with a 7.59 kW photovoltaic system on the roof, all new mechanical
ducting, and all new plumbing. The new plumbing system includes two Eternal Hybrid on-demand
water heaters and preparations for a future grey water irrigation system. The exterior has been
updated with new windows and trim details as well as a new roof.
Viscusi Elson Interior Design has been integral in recreating the interior spaces to better
embrace the true traditions of the Tudor style home. Through our collaboration with the
homeowners, we have enhanced the architecture of the home by adding details throughout the
interior and in elements of the exterior as well.
